Description
Aquafine UV systems are common in pharmaceutical, semiconductor and high purity water plants, where TOC reduction and disinfection both matter and where documentation is part of the job. The 17491LM is the lamp for the systems specified with that part number, and using the genuine part keeps the system’s validation intact.
Key points before you order
- Specified for Aquafine systems using part number 17491LM
- Genuine part keeps validated system documentation intact
- Peak germicidal output at 254 nm for effective disinfection
- Replace annually even if the lamp still lights, because UV output decays
- Correct lamp keeps the system delivering its designed dose

Ordering in Oman
Confirm the part number printed on your existing lamp or ballast before ordering, since chambers that look identical often take different components. Lamps are supplied in protective packaging with handling instructions, and we can arrange the annual change as a service visit.
Frequently asked questions
How often should the UV lamp be replaced?
Annually, regardless of whether it still lights. UV output falls well before the lamp fails, so a lamp that looks fine may already be disinfecting poorly. The quartz sleeve should be cleaned at the same visit — scale on the sleeve blocks the light.
Does UV remove hardness or TDS?
No. UV disinfects — it inactivates bacteria and viruses — but it removes nothing physically. Water still needs filtration for sediment and RO or a softener for dissolved solids and hardness. UV is the final safety stage, not a replacement for treatment.
Does the water need to be clear first?
Yes. UV only works on water it can pass through, so sediment and turbidity must be filtered out upstream. We usually fit a five micron cartridge ahead of any UV unit.
