How long should the pump run each day?
Long enough to turn the whole volume over at least once, which for most villa pools in Oman means eight to ten hours in summer and less in winter. Running too briefly is the commonest cause of cloudy water; running continuously wastes electricity.
The pump is noisy or will not prime. What is wrong?
Usually air getting in on the suction side, a blocked strainer basket, or a worn mechanical seal. Check the basket and lid O-ring first — that solves most cases. If it still will not hold prime, the seal or the suction line needs attention and we can attend.
